Digital Production BuZZ

Jul 9, 2010

Join host Larry Jordan, and co-host Michael Horton, as they talk with:

Evelyn McLellan, Systems Archivist for Artefactual Systems, is a professional archivist working on a number of open source projects to simplify the process of archiving our media. She has some great suggestions on what format to use for archiving media, how and where to store it, what software to use for archiving, and how to pick the best system. Her job isn’t to sell gear, but to help us figure out how to best preserve our media for the distant future. We are REALLY looking forward to what she has to say.

Kathy Kolla, Director/Screenwriter for Cola Kat, has worked on a wide variety of projects from comedic shorts, to commercials, to documentaries; with occasional side-trips into the “Party Life” of LA. She joins us this week because of her latest documentary on efforts to clean up the LA River. Shot with Panasonic P2 gear and currently in post, she joins us this week to discuss what it was like working with the latest gear.

Lucien Harriot, Executive Producer and VFX Supervisor for Mechanism Digital, specializes in creating visual effects for television programs and shows with smaller budgets. In this week’s interview, he discusses the process of creating visual effects. If you want to know how the system works, listen to what Lucien has to say.

Jessica Sitomer, CEO, The Greenlight Coach. Our favorite jobs coach, Jessica Sitomer, is back to talk about new ideas on getting work. When you think about it, the same skills you need to produce a film you also need to use in finding work in the first place - courage, independence, perseverance, and creativity. Sounds like a recipe of success to us!

You can’t find people or interviews like this anywhere else! It’s another fascinating show — all the information you need now to know what’s coming next!
