Andrea Wallace is the Artistic Director for Digital Media and Photography at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Aspen, Colorado. Host Larry Jordan is spending the week teaching video editing at “The Ranch” and is exploring the intersection of the arts with digital media. Our show begins with an overview of how current technology is changing traditional arts and crafts.

Jason Schneider, Studio Director, Furniture Design and Woodworking, Anderson Ranch

Jason Schneider is the studio director for furniture design and woodworking at Anderson Ranch Arts Center. What does this have to do with digital media? How they are applying new digital technology to traditional design and crafts.

George Jardine, Photographer, George Jardine Photography

George Jardine began his career as a photographer, until he joined Adobe Systems Inc in the mid-90′s to help develop Premiere, After Effects and Lightroom (of which he was the product manager). We talk with him about the early days of non-linear editing, and how technology has changed the way photographers and cinematographers think about capturing images.

Mac Holbert, Co-Founder, The Image Collective

Greg Gorman, Photographer, Gorman Photography

Mac Holbert started his career developing image with Graham Nash (of Crosby, Stills, and Nash fame) and Greg Gorman started his career shooting photos of Jimi Hendrix. From there, their careers ranged from creating images for movie posters (Greg) to portraiture and image processing (Mac). This week, we talk with both of them about the importance of light, how to work with actors and models, and how their art has evolved as technology changed.
