Digital Production BuZZ

Dec 10, 2010

Join host Larry Jordan and co-host Mike Horton as they talk with:

Gary Mazo, VP of Made Simple Learning, loves to write. Even worse, he writes technical books explaining technology to people that don’t understand it. As the author of 13 books in the Made Simple series, his focus is mobile devices. We want to learn what it takes to create successful training in the digital age.

Jack Nutting, developer. Jack loves tech. In fact, he’s best friends with Objective-C, Java, and Cocoa programming. (We drink Cocoa, but that’s probably not the same thing..) Jack develops the software that folks like Gary Mazo train people in. So, we want to talk to Jack about the benefits to filmmakers in considering developing their own iPhone app to promote their projects.

Matt Katsolis, director/cinematographer for Interpret Studios, won the Grand Prize in Panasonic’s “Shoot It. Share It.” video contest. Matt travels the world shooting stories that you’ll never see on mainstream media. His award-winning project is the amazing “Moving On: Love is Winning!” We want to learn what drives him to create, his production techniques, and his take on how to create award-winning documentaries.

Terry Curren, founder and president of AlphaDogs, Inc, runs a boutique post-production facility in Burbank, CA, which he founded in 2002. AlphaDogs just finished a mini-series for ESPNU called “The Battle.” We want to talk with him about what’s involved in finishing a project with lots of different source file formats – 7D, 5D, Red – different frame rates, and a very, very short post schedule!

CPC Closed Captioning (Computer Prompting and Captioning Company) has been coming to GV Expo for years. According to Giovanni Galvez, Technical Developer, this Expo is key for the government marketplace as many agencies are required to add closed captioning to their TV programs and to their webcasts.

One thing we can guarantee -- you can’t find people or interviews like this anywhere else! It’s another fascinating show — all the information you need now to know what’s coming next!
